Weekly updates

Easter day is coming up. I have recently signed up for a church camp and this 5 days 4 nights camp will be held at Adelaide hills. I do hope that I experience something new from this camp as having camps here will be much more different than camps in Malaysia.
Lastly, I miss my friends back in Malaysia! But at the same time, I do hope that I am able to share my overseas experience with you guys as well. The joy of studying overseas is something valuable and I do hope that I am able to make full use of this 2 years opportunity =)

Another housemate of mine ..

He is a good cook.. I gotta admit that

Not only that, he is also a good poser

His name is Joe, and he is one of the hottest guy I ever met in Adelaide.

I'm so glad that I manage to have a photo shot with him together with my friend, Haan Hwei.

Aussie Beer .. taste the same. Not much difference then Malaysia

Another house mate of mine, his name is Andrew and he is also my landlord.

Now comes the cake for Adam and Steph, hope that they really have a great time last night. And best of luck in your future undertakings..

Lastly, Jeremy and Rica, other couple and also my housemate. They are the most friendly couple I ever met. It is like everytime I see them, they will always ask.. "how are we?" or "how ya?". As for Rica, she is a student of University of Adelaide and currently doing her final year Bachelor of Law. Glad to have them as housemates. =)

Updates from University of South Australia

What am I taking this semester?

1. Financial Accounting 2
2. Management Accounting
3. Finance and Investment
4. Law

So far, I have no problems (fingers cross) with the first three, however, I might have a slight problem with Law. You know, Australian culture is self study and online discussion. After first lecture of Law, I was like:

Mabel: Do you have any idea what is lecture 1 all about?
Laura: err.. nope
Mabel: oh .. =.= then how? I can't survive until my finals if every week also like that
Laura: Come to think of it, I prefer taylors way of teaching, more detailed and we could actually understand most of the lectures
Mabel: oh well, welcome to kwai lou's way of teaching. =)

Law is so BORING. Especially when Pembroke conducts his lecture on Tuesday morning. Yawn.
Oh ya one more thing, I have registered for Malaysia society and Overseas Christian fellowship(OCF). Hope to make more friends through this society though.

Changes in the Malaysia .. good or bad?

After our country's general election which happened last 2 days, I was certainly shock and did not expect the opposition to gain control over 5 states namely Kedah, Penang, Perak, Selangor and Kelantan. I mean it is understandable that Kelantan has always been under PAS but did not expect this time election to be such a success to the opposition.

Probably you could say that it is part of our Prime Minister's fault for rising crimes and inflation, therefore cause many people to feel that the Malaysia government are not performing their responsibilities. Lots of corruption exist and it is to the extend that the Barisan National government paid the poor in Terengganu to vote for them so that they can maintain their 2/3 seats in the Parliment again.

I am glad that this time our opposition won. At least, I hope that there will be some changes in the country for the next few years to come. Most likely that I wont be staying at Malaysia if I get my PR from Australia but at the same time, I would love to see my country develop and can be compatible to other developed countries.

Lets hope that we had made the right decision this time.
